Gold Jewelry Care

Store individually in your JEWELSOPHY box or pouch, or an air-tight bag or container, to avoid scratches or tarnishing, and place in a dry, cool and dark area. Avoid contact with harsh, abrasive surfaces or objects, as well as chemicals and household cleaners such as bleach, to avoid scratching and discoloration. Add a few drops of mild soap to lukewarm water. Using a soft brush, gently remove any dirt. Rinse in warm water and completely dry using a soft cloth.

We recommend that you professionally clean your gold once per year. In between cleanings, you may clean your jewelry at home, using a cleaner that is non-abrasive. Gold jewelry may become dull over time due to dust, pollution and day-to-day wear.

Gold Plated Jewelry Care

Store individually in your JEWELSOPHY box or pouch, or an air-tight bag or container, to avoid scratches or tarnishing, and place in a dry, cool and dark area. To clean, wipe down with soft cloth to remove smudges and dirt. Dilute a few drops of mild soap in warm water and rub over jewelry. Thoroughly rinse with warm water and completely dry with a soft cloth. When cleaning, make sure to handle gently; applying extreme pressure or over cleaning, may lead to the loss of luster. Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising or other activity.

Wear your jewelry after using soap, body lotion, hair spray, perfume or deodorant. Do not expose to alcohol, sulfur compounds and chemicals, such as bleach. It is natural for all plated jewelry to wear down over time, so proper care is very important for maintaining its color longer.

All JEWELSOPHY plated jewelry has a layer of gold over 925 Sterling Silver.

Silver Jewelry Care

All JEWELSOPHY Silver is Sterling and is marked with the official 925 seal. Silver will tarnish over time, particularly as it is exposed to air, humidity, perspiration, sea salt and water. You should avoid wearing your silver jewelry while swimming, exercising, performing heavy indoor or outdoor household cleaning, showering, and before applying body lotions, hair spray, fragrances and cosmetics.

To clean your JEWELSOPHY sterling silver jewelry, add a few drops of silver cleaner to a soft cloth and rub gently over the item. Rinse with lukewarm water and completely dry with a soft cloth. Use a soft silver polishing cloth to restore shininess. Store individually in your JEWELSOPHY box or pouch, or an air-tight bag or container, to avoid scratches or tarnishing, and place in a dry, cool and dark area.

Oxidized Silver Care

Oxidized jewelry is unlike silver jewelry with a polished finish. Oxidized silver has an intentionally tarnished finish, in order to create an aged appearance.

Cleaning Oxidized silver is thus not recommended, unless truly necessary. As using silver polish will remove the oxidization, with a silver polishing cloth, very gently remove any surface soil, taking care not to remove the finish. Store individually in your JEWELSOPHY box or pouch, or an air-tight bag or container, to avoid scratches, and place in a dry, cool and dark area.
