The honey bee, one of the most important creatures of the animal kingdom, with admirable qualities, is endowed by nature with the power of creation.  The ancient Greeks were the first to discern the nutritional and therapeutic qualities of honey, and considered it a divine food. They even washed their hands and mouth with honey to cleanse their body, spirit and soul. The purpose and destination of the honey bee in life appears to be twofold, and with great symbolic significance: to nourish all beings on earth and to serve as a great example of how diligence, dedication and teamwork lead to success and evolution of life.
